His Performance Review Was Stellar. So Why Was He Passed Over?
Finding courage to check the stories we tell ourselves.
A young professional was referred to me through our shared network. He wanted to see if my uncommon coaching approach could help with his workplace stress. His review was stellar, he'd received several raises in a short time, yet he watched someone else get promoted.
He felt snubbed. Overlooked. The story he was telling himself was about unfairness and politics. He was interviewing at other companies and ready to leave.
After a few of our sessions, he gained the courage to have a conversation with his boss. What his boss shared explained everything. The other promotion was a different path. There was a new position they were creating specifically for him. It was a huge leap. And another nice raise.
Talking to a coach isn't always about solving problems. It's an uncommon approach to digging in and building the courage to ask the questions we're afraid to hear answered.
This is real life career friction. You drive. I navigate.
