It's ok to feel stress. Often, stress, pressure, or tightness will signal care, importance, or focus. The problem is when you get stuck. How will you navigate getting unfrozen?

Take a client I've been working with who has a toolbox full of strategies. Her ultimate goal is to be able to enjoy and not always be in a rush. Steps have been focusing on catching the spiral before it happens.
Here's a summary from today.
She reads me a post from a popular author with tears in her eyes and a quiver in her voice. She is moved by a quote about having space to breathe.
So, we unpack it.
Her entire career has been about efficiency, streamlining processes, and finding flaws. But this, space to breathe, is a different way of thinking for her. Our takeaway becomes an active plan to test it at home and with herself.
She provides examples at work where she has caught herself sprinting through to-do lists and gets up to take a walk before getting carried away.
Building on her success, we intentionally set up a practice of being present. Shifting away from treating her family like the machines she optimizes at work, or at least giving herself the grace to realize that change takes time. We check in in two weeks to see how it goes.
This is what a different approach looks like. It is a whole-person focus.
